How We Use Your Information
We don't just collect your data for the sake of it. Everything we gather serves a specific purpose in making iovarouion better for you. Here's what we actually do with your information.
- Provide and maintain our budgeting services, including calculating your spending patterns and generating financial insights
- Process your transactions and send you receipts or subscription confirmations
- Send you educational content about household budgeting, financial management tips, and platform updates
- Respond to your questions and provide customer support when you need help
- Improve our platform based on how people actually use it, fixing bugs and adding requested features
- Protect against fraudulent activity and ensure the security of your account
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from Australian authorities
We analyze usage data to understand which features work well and which need improvement. But this analysis happens in aggregate – we're looking at patterns across all users, not snooping on individual accounts.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
We're not in the business of selling your personal information. That said, there are specific situations where we share data with others, and we want to be upfront about when that happens.

Data Security and Protection
Protecting your financial information is something we think about constantly. We use industry-standard security measures, but we also want you to understand what that actually means in practice.
- All data transmission uses TLS encryption, which is the same technology banks use for online banking
- Your password is hashed and salted before storage, so even we can't see what you've chosen
- Our servers are located in secure Australian data centers with physical access controls
- We perform regular security audits and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities
- Employee access to personal data is restricted on a need-to-know basis
- We maintain detailed logs of who accesses what data and when
- Regular backups ensure your data can be recovered if something goes wrong
Despite these precautions, no internet transmission is completely secure. We do our best to protect your information, but we can't guarantee absolute security. You can help by using a strong password and not sharing your login credentials with anyone.
Data Retention Periods
We don't keep your information forever. Different types of data have different retention periods based on legal requirements and legitimate business needs.
Data Type | Retention Period |
---|---|
Account information and financial data | Duration of your active account plus 7 years (tax requirement) |
Transaction records | 7 years from transaction date (legal requirement) |
Support correspondence | 3 years from last contact |
Marketing communications data | Until you unsubscribe or 2 years of inactivity |
Usage logs and analytics | 18 months in identifiable form, then anonymized |
Deleted account data | 30-day recovery period, then permanently deleted |
When retention periods expire, we securely delete or anonymize your data. Anonymized data no longer identifies you personally and may be kept for statistical analysis and service improvement.

Changes to This Policy
Privacy regulations evolve, and so does our platform. We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements.
When we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email or through a prominent notice on the platform. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page shows when we last modified the policy. We encourage you to review it occasionally to stay informed about how we protect your information.
Continued use of iovarouion after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy. If you don't agree with changes, you can close your account before they take effect.
